Our Story
Monika Mraz started The Doehrn Tea Company with a mission to infuse great tea into the community. Started at the end of 2019 then after about a three-year hiatus, Doehrn Tea, based in Oxford, MD is bringing high-quality looseleaf teas and tisanes to the Eastern Shore. Soon you will find Doehrn Teas in your favorite local shops along Maryland's Eastern Shore, and in pop up shops as often as we can find a place to brew a cuppa.
Growing up as the sole tea drinker in a house full of coffee, Monika thought it was time to spread her love of tea and celebrate its deliciousness with fellow tea enthusiasts, as well as shout from the rooftops for all to hear that tea is awesome and should be enjoyed by all.
Monika also works as a fundraiser for international non-profit organizations that have taken her to far-reaching locales where she always seeks out the local tea culture.
Monika earned her MBA at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where she did thorough research of 'afternoon tea' in some of the best tea rooms on the British Isles while she learned a thing or two about business along the way. She should have written her thesis on tea but that is a story for another time…
